The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is an effort to recognize the need for improving the performance of the school system and to provide community-owned quality elementary education in the mission mode. It also envisages the bridging of gender and social gaps. This study is mainly An Evaluative Study with some additional aspects as well. The objectives of SSA and methodology have been explained in this document. This study deals with the evaluation of various parameters of SSA. This is a study based on a qualitative approach, which refers to a process to look into the working of a given programme, “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Chandigarh”.
