Youth unemployment in India is still a major issue which is exceptionally concerning, particularly when compared to worldwide benchmarks. However, the problem of unemployment among the youth is far more complex and widespread. In reality, an unemployed youth is someone who actively seeks employment but fails to secure a job. In such a situation, the individual is capable of working and searches for a job matching their skills, yet is unable to obtain suitable employment. Despite their capabilities and qualifications, they fail to find employment that matches their potential. The study was conducted on a randomly selected sample of 200 youth. There were 100 Hindu and 100 Muslim unemployed youth. Their age range was 26 to 35 years. The sample was drawn from rural and urban areas of Bhabua (Kaimur) district. The Anxiety Scale, developed by Sinha and Krishna (1971) was used to measure the anxiety level of the unemployed youth. The result indicated that Muslim unemployed youth were having more anxiety than Hindu youth. On the other hand, urban youth were having more anxiety than rural youth. The purpose of this study is to see whether Hindu and Muslim youth differ or not in anxiety levels due to variation in community and residential areas.
