Several factors affect academic performance, but numerous studies show that mental health is the most significant factor influencing students’ performance. The purpose of the present piece of work was to examine the predictive effect of mental health on academic performance in college students. Employed the purposive random sampling technique; 80 participants, half male and half female, were selected from Kanpur District, Uttar Pradesh. Correlation research was employed in the present research work. To measure the mental health of subjects Mental Health Questionnaire (Verma & Verma, 1989) was used and to assess the academic performance marks of the previous board examination obtained by the students. The regression analysis was computed to analyze the data. The result indicated that mental health emerged as the significant predictor of academic performance; another finding revealed that the demographical factors, i.e., Socio-economic status, locale, gender and student-teacher relationship are significant in this study.
