This study explores the psychosocial challenges faced by elderly women in Sirsa District, Haryana, focusing on three key aspects: independence in daily activities, mental health, and social isolation. Using standardized tools-the Katz Index, the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30), and the UCLA Loneliness Scale-data were collected from 300 elderly female respondents. The research aimed to assess their ability to manage daily tasks, measure levels of depression and loneliness, and analyze the relationships among these factors. Findings reveal a significant link between reduced independence and increased levels of loneliness and depression. Based on the analysis, the study recommends developing community-based care programs, mental health support tailored to elderly women, and culturally sensitive awareness campaigns. These strategies aim to enhance overall well-being and reduce social isolation, ultimately improving the quality of life for aging women in the region.
