This study looks at the psychological effects of a 14-day social media detox on anxiety, self-esteem, and sleep quality in young people. The study used a pre-test and post-test experimental design with a sample of 60 undergraduate students aged 18 to 25 years. The study employed standardized psychometric instruments to assess key variables. Anxiety levels were measured using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI; Beck et al., 1988) while self-esteem was evaluated through the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES; Rosenberg, 1965). To assess sleep quality, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI; Buysse et al., 1989) was utilized. These tools provided reliable insights into the psychological and behavioral dimensions explored in the context of the study. The results showed a large decrease in anxiety levels, a moderate increase in self-esteem, and a considerable improvement in sleep quality following detox. The study emphasises the potential of behavior-based digital treatments to improve mental health and digital well-being among young people.
