The present study examines gender participation in different activities. The activities are categorized into agriculture, off-farm, kitchen gardening, livestock management, and homestead activities. The findings reveal that the majority of the respondents i.e. 46.66% belonged to the age group 36-55 years, followed by those above 55 years of age (40.00%). Maximum male respondents participated in field preparation (99.16%), marketing (98.33%), harvesting (96.66%), application of manure & fertilizer (94.16%), engagement of labour (85.00%), sorting and storage of produce (80.83%). The study advocates for the improvement of women’s education, especially higher than the senior secondary level, for enhancing their increased participation in economic activities, particularly in non-farming activities, which will be useful not only for raising their income level but will also assist them in reducing the dependency burden in the agriculture sector.
