Based on time and goal, there are four types of educational assessments; diagnostic assessment, formative assessment, summative assessment, and condensation assessment. What particularly is used for amending the topic being assessed means program or educational approach is formative assessment. The purpose of this research is the role and importance of formative assessment in the process of education. It's a site study whose data has been collected by questionnaire. The statistical community is 52 teachers and 104 students. As a result, it is said that assessment is an indescribable part of the teaching learning process. In formative assessment, the teacher utilizes assessment as a service for learning and education. So the students see their weaknesses and strengths, and the feedback from this assessment give the students opportunity to pay attention to what they learn. They can foster their skills and competencies and acquire awareness from their learning scale. And forgetting the educational goals, removing dismisses and foster positive aspects and strengthen their positive aspects. On the other hand, they can earn thinking skills, creativity, achievement attitude, motivation for studying and learning and decrease exam anxiety among the students.
