The present research analyzed the associations between the constructs of psychological well-being and mental health among the students preparing for the NEET. A descriptive correlational research design was opted for on a sample of 100 NEET coaching students (50 boys & 50 girls) in the age group of 16-22 years chosen through purposive sampling from the NEET coaching centers. The Mental Health Assessment Scale (MHA) was utilized to collect the data on mental health and the Well-being Index was used to measure the psychological well-being of the participants. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The results suggest the students possessed average to high levels of mental health (M=62.48; SD=9.84) and psychological well-being (M=64.15; SD=10.63). The dimension of Joyful Living was found to have the highest scores in mental health whereas the dimension of Psychological Well-Being was found to have the highest score in the psychological well-being. Further, the correlational analysis revealed that all the six dimensions of psychological well-being had significant positive correlation with mental health (p<.01). Psychological Well-being had the strongest correlation (r=.68) with mental health followed by Emotional Wellbeing (r=.59) and Social Well-being (r=.56), while Physical Well-being was observed to have the least correlation with mental health (r=.37). The results confirm the existence of the multidimensional construct of the psychological well-being as well as its positive correlations with mental health among students preparing for the NEET.
