Climate-resilient agricultural (CRA) practices are essential for sustaining Indian agriculture amid climate change. The study identifies key CRA practices and examines the role of extension personnel in promoting adoption. Findings reveal that CRA enhances smallholder resilience and income but faces barriers such as high costs, limited credit access, and inadequate infrastructure. Extension personnel play a crucial role, with 97% advocating for farmers and 89% issuing technical advisories, yet challenges like poor training, funding delays, and weak interdepartmental coordination hinder effectiveness. CRA adoption also boosts nutrition, livestock management, and women’s participation. Strengthening extension services, financial support, and digital tools is vital for scaling CRA and ensuring climate adaptation in Indian agriculture.
