This single case report presents the application of cognitive behaviour therapy for the management of poly-substance use disorder. Poly-substance use is an escalating clinical apprehension and is often related to significant impairment in social and occupational functions. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is considered an evidence-based psychological intervention for different types of substance use disorders. A structured CBT intervention was carried out in the case of a 26-year-old male with dependence on multiple substances, including opioids, cannabis, alcohol, benzodiazepines, and nicotine. 13 sessions of cognitive behaviour therapy were carried out, focusing on craving management, cognitive restructuring, assertiveness, and relapse prevention. The patient demonstrated significant improvement in his daily life activities, symptoms, maintenance in behaviour, and overall psychosocial functioning. This case study report elucidates the effectiveness and application of CBT in managing poly-substance use conditions in the Indian scenario.
