The COVID-19 pandemic was an unprecedented challenge for governments worldwide. Governments have taken several measures to deal with this pandemic. The community experiences with government measures varied across countries worldwide. This research paper examines the effectiveness of measures taken by the Government of Punjab, India, during the COVID-19 pandemic from the citizens’ perspective. The study focusses on implementing preventive health measures as well as other policy measures for citizens. Moreover, it gauges the satisfaction level of the citizens with various policy measures. The study highlights the gaps between government claims and the perception of the citizens. This study underscores the need for better implementation strategies and the dissemination of correct information to the public for effective disaster management.
