The study titled Examining the Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Stress & Well-Being in Employees of National Thermal Power Corporation – Power Management Institute, Noida, India aimed to understand the levels of emotional intelligence, the nature of stress, and the impact of stress on well-being through the lived experiences of NTPC PMI employees. Seven employees (4 males & 3 females) from diverse roles were interviewed using a semi-structured interview format, with responses transcribed and analyzed through thematic analysis. Four central themes emerged: Time Management, Tasks and work role, Relationships, and Feelings and emotions. The findings indicated that effective time management, emotional intelligence, and strong professional relationships are crucial for maintaining work-life balance and reducing stress. Participants who demonstrated higher emotional intelligence were better able to handle stress, resulting in improved well-being. However, gaps in formal mental health services were noted. The study suggests implementing flexible work schedules, emotional intelligence workshops, mentorship programs, and wellness initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and overall well-being. The research, though insightful, is limited by its small sample size and qualitative approach, necessitating further studies with larger, more diverse populations for broader generalization.
