Climate change poses a significant threat to food security in Africa, exacerbating challenges related to agricultural productivity, food availability, and access to nutrition. Rising temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, prolonged droughts, and extreme weather events have disrupted farming systems, reduced crop yields, and threatened livestock production across the continent. These climate-induced stresses have further intensified food insecurity, particularly in vulnerable communities that rely on subsistence agriculture. The study utilized expansive literature from various case studies to collect data on climate change and food security in Africa. The results highlight adaptive strategies such as climate-smart agriculture, improved irrigation techniques, and drought-resistant crops that are being implemented to mitigate food shortages. The findings emphasize the urgent need for policy interventions, investment in sustainable farming practices, and stronger collaboration between governments, international organizations, and local communities. This study concludes that integrating climate change mitigation with sustainable agricultural policies is essential to safeguarding livelihoods and achieving food security across the continent.
