Studies of gaming addiction have become a worldwide matter because research teams extensively study its neurological psychological and social effects. Researchers worldwide have revealed that violent video game exposure makes people emotionally indifferent while simultaneously causing their aggression to rise and their empathy to decrease. Scientists report a regular occurrence of neurocognitive changes which affect the brain regions that control decisions and emotional management (Mohammadi et al., 2020). Comprehensive gaming leads to social consequences which cause interpersonal relationship breakdowns while students experience academic declines and lose control of time which results in fatigue followed by social withdrawal (Garg et al., 2023). Evidence shows a powerful correlation between gaming addiction which combines aggression with depression and impulsivity while the COVID-19 pandemic made these issues worse because of prolonged screen time (Kaur et al., 2023). Socio-cultural effects of gaming addiction require active implementation of parental supervision together with policies and educational awareness strategies to minimize potential risks (Iyer et al., 2022). Findings show that the combination of supportive family conditions and planned interventions together with educational methods helps establish healthier gaming practices (Verma et al., 2022). The proper solution for solving increasing gaming addiction problems requires a combination of psychological expertise alongside social structure understanding and government regulations of gaming activity. The purpose of this research is to investigate the brain-based and psychological aspects of gaming addiction, especially regarding impulsive conduct and aggressive behavior. The study analyzes gaming addiction from the socio-cultural perspectives of the Indian population while focusing on important moderation factors that include self-compassion and personality traits. This research explores how impulsivity and aggression are linked with gaming addiction specifically when occurring in competitive digital gaming settings. The manuscript explores how excessive gameplay affects mental health together with the behavior patterns of Indian adolescents. The research data shows that excessive gaming leads to reduced emotion processing ability social isolation and academic challenges among gamers.
