Micro irrigation systems have become a viable way to deal with the problems of food security and water scarcity in agriculture. The effectiveness, advantages, and drawbacks of micro-irrigation technology are thoroughly reviewed and analysed in this research. The paper demonstrates the major benefits of micro-irrigation over conventional irrigation techniques, including improved water-use efficiency, better agricultural output, and decreased environmental impact. Notwithstanding its manifold advantages, impediments including upfront capital expenditures and farmer education continue to pose substantial obstacles to its wider adoption. The significance of ongoing research and development is emphasised in the paper’s conclusion in order to address these issues and optimise the potential of micro-irrigation systems for advancing sustainable agriculture and guaranteeing global food security.
