One of the highly challenging areas of modern education system is competitive examinations, where success not only depends on knowledge but also on mental balance, emotional control, self-regulation and cognitive ability. The present study aims to analyze the ways through which yoga can help develop “inner governance,” i.e., self-control, emotional stability and cognitive management. On the basis of the available review of literature, the current study analyzes the effects of yoga on cognitive improvement, stress management, sleep quality, and emotional balance. It also establishes that yoga may be an effective and supportive tool for the aspirants of competitive examinations.
