Urgency is what leads the poet on the poetic journey; poetry is an act of concentration, improvisation, and inquiry (Van Rooyen & d’Abdon, 2020). It is a succinct language that conveys nuanced emotions. Poetry should have emotional resonance with readers in addition to being memorable, melodic, imaginative, and inventive (Yadav, 2018).
