India is a spiritual country known for its saints, whose insight, simplicity, detachment, competence, generosity, and obvious divinity are unquestionable. Saints such as Kabir, Guru Nanak, and others infused significance into people’s lives through their teachings. They relieved people’s miseries and worked to improve society. Today, there are several Godmen throughout India. However, only a few of them have a desire to assist humanity. The main objective of this paper is to review the literature on the social, economic and political reasons that motivate the people to the worship of these Godmen. The paper will raise the need for the development of a scientific temperament among common people and provide insight into what government, legal practitioners and psychologists may do to support followers.
