Although occupational stress has been documented in many organizational settings, some studies have explored the relationship between positive psychology variables and occupational stress. This present study aims to explore the relationship of two positive variables, namely hope and resilience, in relation to occupational stress. Data were collected from a sample of 324 information technology professionals from various information technology companies in Bangalore, India. Purposive sampling was used to collect the responses on three questionnaires, namely, the Adult Trait Hope Scale, the Resilience Scale, and the Occupational Stress Index. A pilot study was also included to verify the reliability coefficient of all questionnaires. The results of this study indicated that many employees experience high occupational stress which is significantly related to their hope and resilience scores. Regression analysis established a negative correlation between hope and occupational stress, where the hope cores were high, there was a lower level of occupational stress. Resilience and occupational stress were also negatively connected in the regression analysis, which was evident in a decrease in occupational stress with a moderate and high level of resilience of the employees.
