Soybean is an important legume as well as oilseed of the world and is known for quality protein and oil. Because of its versatility, soybean is popularly known as the “Miracle Bean”. The study has been grounded on secondary data. Data was collected for the period 1970-2021. Analytical tools like CGR and instability index were used. Area expansion was found as a major reason for production growth in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh as well as in other parts of India. In Madhya Pradesh productivity was more unstable while in Maharashtra and at all India level area was more unstable.
