The personality and behaviour that an individual will display as an adult are greatly influenced by their early years. Childhood traumas are characterised as events that negatively affect a person’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. A study was conducted in various colleges in Ludhiana City of Punjab to check the prevalence of childhood trauma. The 420 respondents in the sample were evenly split between both genders (210 women & 210 men). The required information was gathered from the respondents using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (Bernstein & Fink, 1998). The findings showed that a significant number of respondents had experienced childhood trauma.
