Self-esteem is widely used as an outcome measure in studies of psychiatric rehabilitation. “Work” is an important part of life and a therapeutic modality, generating a sense of purpose and self-esteem. In this study, 15 patients with chronic institutionalized patients with schizophrenia were included, and their work performance and self-esteem were assessed. This was a hospital based cross sectional study. The analysis included descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation. Results show that there is no significant relationship between self-esteem and work performance in patients with chronic schizophrenia.
