To assess farmers’ perception of custom hiring centres, the necessity to develop a scale was acknowledged and an attempt has been made to construct a Likert’s Summated rating scale by adhering to the recommended standard technique. A list of 67 (positive & negative) assertions was screened based on 14-point criteria suggested by Edward (1969) in 2024, and Google Docs forms were sent to eighty-five experts through email and personal follow-up. A set of statements were eliminated and the remaining ones were chosen for item analysis based on the answers provided by the 40 experts and then it is administered to 30 farmers of Hisar district in Haryana. The reliability of the scale was tested using the Spearman-Brown coefficient. The reliability coefficient was found to be 0.803. Content validity was used to assess the scale’s validity. The final scale consisted of 30 items.
