The purpose of Resilience-Focused Therapy (RFT) is to improve the strengths of an individual. It assists people to improve their current capabilities, resources and competencies in order to enhance their happiness and mental well-being. This contrasts with earlier forms of treatment, which focus primarily on issues, symptoms and mental disorders. Rather, RFT seeks out solutions that help individuals in managing difficult circumstances, stress and obstacles in life. It is based on ideas from strengths-based approaches, positive psychology and resilience theory. The objective is to support individuals’ emotional development, improve their ability to control their emotions, boost their self-esteem and attain long-term well-being. This study explains the concept, core principles, treatment techniques and application of resilience-focused therapy. It also talks about resilience-focused therapy’s advantages and drawbacks. The study shows that resilience can help in the growth and recovery of those suffer from mental health problems like anxiety, depression, stress and trauma. Additionally, it states that resilience is a dynamic concept that can evolve over time. It also lays down the importance of positive relationships, useful coping mechanisms and personal strengths in improving mental health and well-being. RFT can improve psychological functioning, help people to manage better, increase optimism and proceed to more satisfaction with life. More work is needed in this field to develop standard methods and test for better results among different category of people, it is evident that RFT is a favourable and complete way to access mental health care. By focusing on strengths instead of just problems, RFT encourages a more hopeful, recovery-focused and personalized approach to mental well-being.
