The uneven distribution of educational infrastructure in India compels students to move beyond their local areas in search of quality education. This relocation can be a daunting experience, especially when combined with self-critical perfectionism and the stress of adapting to a new culture, both of which can impact their psychological well-being. Grounded in the stress enhancement model of perfectionism, the study is an attempt to examine the predictive role of self-critical perfectionism and acculturative stress on psychological well-being among domestically relocated students. Purposive sampling was done to collect data from 120 domestically relocated students studying in different colleges in Delhi. Data analysis has been done using IBM SPSS version 25. Mediation analysis using PROCESS has been done to see whether self-critical perfectionism and acculturative stress predicted psychological well-being. The study will provide key insights for education institutions, policymakers and support services on addressing challenges faced by students from various states in India who have relocated for higher educational purposes.
