From a young age, human beings begin to ponder upon the reality of nature and the meaning of life. Finding meaning gives them a purpose and establishes a connection with their higher selves. This connection with someone much greater than themselves makes them believe in a being beyond conventional human understanding. This ability to find a purpose, enter a higher state of spiritual awareness and the capacity to experience transcendence is what we refer to as Spiritual Intelligence (S.I.). In this research paper, it has been concluded that one of the key factors that influence the S.I. of people is their well-being. The PERMA model by Martin Seligman is used to evaluate well-being. The PERMA Profiler given by Peggy Kern and a Self-Report Inventory given by David King are used to measure well-being and spiritual intelligence respectively. The scores for the well-being of high school girls (N=60) show a positive correlation of 0.4739 (p<.05) with the scores of their spiritual intelligence. This proves that higher levels of well-being will elicit higher levels of spiritual intelligence. The discussion follows that, to be more spiritually aware, one needs to have better psychological well-being; and consequently, be capable of finding the ultimate reality, meaning, and transcendence in life.
