The study aimed to examine the role of organization type and psychological capital on occupational stress. In this study, a 2x2x2 factorial design was employed, incorporating two types of organizations (government & private), gender (male & female), and levels of psychological capital (high & low). A psychological capital questionnaire was applied to assess the level of psychological capital. The occupational stress scale was used to identify the stress level. The results revealed the significant effects of organization type and psychological capital on occupational stress. More specifically, private employees experience a high level of occupational stress as compared to government employees. The present findings have also proved the effect of gender on occupational stress and its dimensions. An additional important finding of the study is that psychological capital significantly influences occupational stress. Employees with high psychological capital experience lower levels of occupational stress compared to those with lower levels of psychological capital.
