Psychological resources have emerged as an important construct in the domain of organizational studies, especially in the contexts of positive and industrial psychology. Among the most important determinants of employee well-being and performance is the construct of Psychological Capital (PsyCap), consisting of hope, self-efficacy, resilience, and optimism. The current narrative review aims to critically examine the relevance and implications of the construct of PsyCap, as revealed through the results of recent studies, and its role in positively impacting employee well-being and performance. The current paper also examines the interaction between PsyCap and other important constructs, such as leadership and job environment, in the context of industrial psychology.
