Alist of adolescents studying in arts and science stream from XI and XII class was prepared from govt. and private schools of rural and urban area i.e. 100 from rural area and 100 from urban area from thus making a total sample of 200 adolescents. Parental aspiration scale by Grover and Grover (1987) was used to assess perceived parental aspiration of respondents, and mental health inventory by Jagdish and Shrivastva (1983) to assess mental health of respondents. The finding elucidates that science stream and private school respondents perceived high level of parental aspiration than their counter parts.
