The current study examines the mediating role of Self-as-context between Differentiation of Self and Mindfulness. 849 participants (603 females & 246 males) from various colleges in Bengaluru completed a questionnaire package consisting of a Self-as-context questionnaire, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), and Differentiation of Self Inventory- Short Form (DOS-SF). The study adopts a correlational design, and the participants were selected using a convenient sampling technique. The data was analyzed using Statistical Analysis: Mediation Analysis using SPSS Process Macro by Hayes. The results showed that there is a significant positive correlation between Mindfulness, Self-as-context, and Differentiation of self. The findings show that the indirect effect of Mindfulness on the Differentiation of self via Self-as-context is significant. Overall, the study provides insight into how an individual’s differentiation of self is connected to Mindfulness and Self-as-context. The implications of the study are in the field of counselling and family therapy. The study recommends exploring various other factors that aid the process of differentiation.
