Because many mothers lack the time or energy to figure out why they are feeling so horrible, they internalize their feelings and endeavor to do their best every day. Motherhood is a demanding undertaking, especially for working women who face numerous challenges while raising their children. Working mothers’ mental and physical health suffers as a result of excessive employment. Working mothers are at a higher risk to experience stress, exhaustion, anxiety, and depression, according to numerous research. This study aims to compare the mental health among working and non-working mothers. In this study six dimensions of mental health namely Positive self-evaluation, Perception of reality, Integration of personality, Autonomy, Group-oriented attitudes, and Environmental mastery were analyzed. For this purpose, 200 mothers (100 working mothers & 100 non-working mothers) have been taken and they were assessed using the Mental Health Inventory (Jagdish & Srivastava). Data was analyzed with the help of SPSS Statistical package (20.0v). Mean and t-test was employed for the calculation of analysis needed for the sample. As a result, significant difference was obtained in mental health among working and non-working mothers. Non-working mothers have shown superior mental health in comparison to working mothers.
