Emotional intelligence is pivotal in shaping workplace interactions, affecting both organizational culture and employee engagement. This research seeks to position emotional intelligence as a key element in fostering positive organizational cultures and enhancing employee engagement, specifically examining how emotionally intelligent individuals contribute to a supportive and cooperative work environment. Employing a quantitative methodology, data was gathered from 153 corporate employees across various sectors, each with at least two years of experience in their respective fields. The data collection tools included the Meta Mood Scale (Emotional Intelligence), created by Salovey et al. (1995) which consists of 24 items rated on a five-point Likert scale. The Organizational Culture Scale by Bhupinder Shrivastava and Somonnoy Ghosh measures different aspects of organizational culture within Indian organizations. Gallup’s Q12, a survey with 12 questions, assesses employee engagement within a company. The study reveals a strong correlation between emotional intelligence and organizational culture (r =.712, p < 0.01) and a moderate link between emotional intelligence and employee engagement (r =.280, p < 0.01). Regression analysis underscores the significance of emotionally intelligent leadership in enhancing motivation and commitment, demonstrating that organizational culture and emotional intelligence are strong predictors of employee engagement (R2 = 0.159, p < 0.01). Encouraging emotional intelligence through training promotes a positive work culture and greater engagement. These findings assist HR professionals and leaders in enhancing workplace effectiveness.
