Health of women is an universal concern. Women’s health differs from men’s health in unique ways. Health of women is of great importance during their reproductive years. The present study entitled “Gap between knowledge and practice of rural mothers related to health of mothers and children” was carried out in Jorhat district of Assam to assess the existing gap between knowledge and practices of rural mothers related to their health such as reproductive health, maternal health and child health. A sample of 325 young mothers having children below 6 years of age were selected randomly for the study. The study was conducted in eleven numbers of villages of Jorhat district of Assam. The findings revealed that most of the respondents had good knowledge regarding their reproductive health, maternal health and child health while some of them were found to have lack of practice in some aspects of health.
