The Indian agro-chemicals industry is the fourth largest in the world after the US, Japan and China has undergone many changes over the years. The global pesticide and agrochemical market is worth $218 billion. Pesticide sector growth is slowing globally due to improved productivity, a fall in the green movement, tighter restrictions, and better crop management. In the realm of modern agriculture, the study of farmers’ buying behavior and competitor analysis for pesticides used in cash crops emerges as a crucial research area. Understanding the dynamics of farmers’ purchasing decisions and their receptiveness to pesticide innovations is paramount to developing sustainable agricultural practices. The results of the present study reveal that agrochemical companies should focus on delivering high-quality products, fostering strong dealer relationships, and investing in farmer education and support programs. Policymakers should promote sustainable pest management practices and provide necessary support to enhance agricultural productivity and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the district.
