The COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 resulted in the announcement of lockdowns worldwide. The pandemic-induced lockdown brought about drastic changes in the lifestyle of millions of people. The current study tries to explore if “lifestyle changes induced by COVID-19” have an impact on the “subjective well-being” and “vigilance” of male and female emerging adults (with a mean age of 22.62 years) in Kolkata. The “lifestyle changes induced by COVID-19” were measured using a survey questionnaire which was designed for this study. Subjective Well Being Inventory by Sell and Nagpal (1992) was administered. The vigilance task was administered through a web-based application named “Psych Lab 101”. Results revealed that individuals with higher levels of pandemic-induced lifestyle changes have lesser subjective well being. However the results did not show any significant difference between individuals reporting higher and lower lifestyle changes due to the pandemic on their cognitive functions.
