Mental health forms the foundation of emotional and social resilience, while life satisfaction reflects the fulfilment derived from one’s values and achievements. Together, they create the essence of a balanced and meaningful life. The current study aims to explore the mental health and life satisfaction among Van Gujjars and city dwellers. A total sample of 64 adults, ages ranging from 25-45 years, comprised of 32 Van Gujjars and 32 city dwellers were selected. Data was collected using a simple random sampling method from Ramnagar Palika of Nainital District, Uttarakhand. Mental Health Scale by Jagdish and Srivastava (1983) and Life Satisfaction Scale by Singh and Joseph (1971) were used in the present study. For statistical analysis two-way ANOVA and post-hoc test were employed. The findings revealed that Van Gujjars and city dwellers differ significantly on the level of mental health and life satisfaction. Additionally, no significant difference was found between male and female adults in terms of mental health and life satisfaction. Furthermore, no significant interaction was found between type of residence and gender for mental health and life satisfaction.
