Self-esteem refers to a person’s overall opinion of their value and “how much a person likes, accepts, and respects oneself generally as a person. Emotional intelligence is the capacity to identify, make use of, understand, and regulate the emotional states of oneself and others to resolve problems and regulate conduct. In the current study, four factors were taken into consideration: managing relationships, motivation, empathy, and understanding emotions. To investigate the relationship between self-esteem and emotional intelligence and its dimensions among college students. 2. To investigate if self-esteem has a significant impact on emotional intelligence among college students. This study investigated the correlation between self-esteem and emotional intelligence using a correlational research design. The total sample (N= 300) of college students (150 male & 150 female) between the 18 to 25 year age range studying in graduation and post-graduation were collected Purposive sampling method was employed in this study to choose participants from different Patna colleges. Self-esteem and emotional intelligence scales were used to measure the relationship between self-esteem and emotional intelligence among college students. The significant positive relationship between self-esteem and emotional intelligence was determined. Self-esteem influences emotional intelligence.
