In today’s world if cognitive skills can help a person Get into an Organization; but it is Emotional Intelligence which helps Him Move Up The career ladder. In the workplace emotional Intelligence is twice as important as analytical and technical skills combined .in Organizational Context,it becomes Imperative to develop this skill to handle potentially conflictual situation as inability to do so can lead to dysfunctional consequences .This paper is an attempt to throw light on the importance of Emotional Intelligence as an essential ingredient to success in the workplace that relies less on Individuals and more on work group dynamics.
