This empirical study aims to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Subjective Well-being (SWB) among students, emphasising the gender role differences between the two constructs. The study employed established psychometric instruments to evaluate the levels of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Subjective Well-being (SWB) among 150 students (75 males & 75 females) from engineering and management colleges in Lucknow. The study’s findings demonstrate a strong positive correlation between emotional intelligence (EI) and subjective well-being (SWB). Additionally, significant differences were observed, with girls exhibiting significantly higher levels of emotional intelligence (EI) and subjective well-being (SWB) compared to boys.
