The IT industry is flowing in a fast-changing environment that involves constant innovation, technology, and changing organizational needs. Employee adaptability has been a key competency issue in terms of productivity and performance in such demands. Current research seeks to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and the adaptability of employees in the IT industry. The present study was a cross-sectional study that was conducted on 106 participants belonging to various firms of the IT industry. Self-reported measures such as the Job Adaptability Inventory by Pulakos et al. (1999) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Wong and Law (2002) were used as data recorders. The obtained findings elucidate that emotional intelligence has a high correlation with employee adaptability, which brings out emotional intelligence as an important predictor of employee adaptability.
