The cause of this research was to determine the locale’s effect on psychological well-being. In order to examine the locale’s effect, psychological well-being scale was used which is the Hindi alteration of Ryff’s Psychological Well-being Scale (1989) done in the year 2006 by Rai and Gupta. The sample of 270 subjects was taken from different colleges in the Meerut district. Factorial design 3×2 was applied for this research. In this research, there were two independent variables namely locale and gender. Locale was varied at three levels, i.e., urban, semi-urban and rural, whereas gender was varied at two levels i.e. male and female. For examining the data, Twoway ANOVA, Mean and Tukey multiple comparison test was applied. Ongoing through the results obtained from examining the data, it was observed that locale affects an individual’s psychological well-being significantly whereas gender does not affect the psychological well-being of an individual.
