The objective of the present study was to examine the correlation between domestic violence and subjective well-being, depression, and suicidal ideation. The study sample consisted of 1,200 married women, aged 30 to 45 years, selected from the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. All participants held at least an undergraduate degree. To assess the relevant variables, the following Hindi-adapted scales were utilized: the Domestic Violence Against Women Scale by Rastogi and Moorjani (2017), to measure domestic violence; the Subjective Well-being Inventory by Thakur and Singh (2005), to assess subjective well-being; the Mental Depression Scale by Dubey (2006), to evaluate depression; and the Suicidal Ideation Scale by Sisodia and Bhatnagar (2011) to measure suicidal ideation. The Pearson product-moment correlation was calculated using SPSS (version 20.0) to analyse the relationships among the variables. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between domestic violence and subjective well-being. Furthermore, domestic violence was found to be positively correlated with both depression and suicidal ideation among married women.
