Social media is used every day by a substantial number of the younger generation and can have a significant effect on the well-being of its users (Xiao, Peng, & Liao, 2022). This paper attempted to study the social media usage patterns of adolescents. The study is descriptive in nature. It has studied 198 respondents from 8th,9th, and 10th standard students, as well as first and second PUC students from Belthangady Thaluk. The objectives of the study included studying the duration and timeline of social media usage among adolescents, to understand the sleep cycle and food habits of adolescents by using social media, and to know the adolescents’ opinion on the benefits of social media usage. The researcher used purposive sampling for the study. To fulfil the objectives of the study, the researcher used the questionnaire method. The secondary data was collected from the internet sources such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and ERIC. The analysis and interpretation of data were conducted and presented using frequency tables, mean, standard deviation (SD), Chi-square tests, and significance values to analyse the data. The study inferred that there is both a positive and a negative influence of social media usage among adolescents.
