Recent evidences demonstrate that globally, a significant number of adolescents (10-19 years), especially students, are more likely to suffer from several kinds of mental health problems. Out of all, anxiety, depression, and stress are the most prevalent ones due to gender dysphoria, residential location, living status, low social support, study, and higher parental pressure, comparison with their peers, relationship troubles, etc. Studies also reported that these mental health problems can have adverse effects on their physical health, interpersonal relationships, educational performance, and overall quality of life. It is a matter of grave concern that the prevalence of anxiety, depression, and stress is increasing day by day rapidly among students across the world, including India, and there is a dearth of research studies in this field. Hence, it is very crucial to identify the ‘at-risk’ adolescent students, and their probable risk factors, so that the necessary measures like interventions, counselling sessions, and policy implementations can be taken at an initial stage, and can provide them better, healthier lives with a bright future.
