Sheet-Fed offset has been most widely used printing process in the market which is most suitable to print on fiber based substrates. Digital printing methods have evolved recently and currently growing with an exponential rate. The current research work was carried out to compare Sheet-Fed offset with toner and liquid ink based digital printing technologies in terms of quality parameters like Solid Ink Density, Dot Gain. A test form was developed having quality control patches with optimal resolution images and some text. The test form was printed with conventional Sheet-Fed press, toner based digital and liquid ink based digital printing technologies available in local market. The results indicated that Digital printing is more suitable than offset because it can impart better solid ink density, better print contrast and results into lesser dot gain.
