Positive psychology interventions have been proven useful for increasing desirable behaviours and reducing undesirable behavior patterns. The present study examined the impact of an intervention program on engagement in physical activity. A sample of 45 male adolescents was selected in this study and they were given a structured program to enhance the frequency of physical activity. In this particular study, the changes in four variables- motivation for physical activity, general self-efficacy, body image satisfaction and use of defense mechanisms were studied after the interventions were applied. After analyzing the data by using t-test, the results showed significant differences post-intervention in three of the variables. The current study establishes that the non- positive deviants have attained many qualities of positive deviants after intervention. It has increased their motivation for regular physical activity or any other exercise and aspects of body image. Overall, positive psychology interventions promote body compassion and positive health behaviour and therefore may have the potential to help inculcate health promoting behaviours among adolescents.
