Global organizations like WHO, FAO, and WOAH aim to address health risks arising from interactions between animals and plants and their environment using the concept of One Health. It recognizes the connections and relationships between all living beings and operates at various scales. One health concept aims at the well-being of humans, animals, and the planet. This paper explores the foundation and principles of One Health in India, highlighting the need for intersectoral collaboration and integrated action to address health challenges at the interface of human, animal, and environmental domains. This work focused on the importance of communication, collaboration, and coordination among various stakeholders, including medical professionals, public health practitioners, veterinarians, agricultural workers, ecologists, and communities, to achieve the goals of One Health. This paper emphasizes the evolving nature of zoonotic diseases and the required collaborative approach to effectively prevent and manage these infections around the Globe, advocating for a transdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach that preserves biological integrity for future generations.
