The last two decades in India, many changes occurred in information technology. The use of the Internet has greatly increased in daily lives, as much aswe cannot even think living without the Internet. It is bridging the gap between people. Information and communication technology has spread to all aspects of the social life. Now the Social Networking Sites (SNS) have become a major part in human life. This new technology has been adopted by most of the youth and especially by the students. Nowadays every student is creating his public profile on these sites, as that is the real world. It is important to understandthat for what purpose and for what special reasons younger aged people are consuming much of their time on this virtual platform. The Results of the research has shown that the students are using these sites not for educational or discussions but for mere entertainment.
