In the current research, the dependent variables under study are the employee training and development (T&D) within performance appraisal systems and its influence on employee performance in the banking industry along with comparison of the role of this variable in public and private banks. Instead, in a world that is becoming extremely digital, the regulatory landscape, and intensity of competition, efficient practices in human resource management will guarantee organizational success. The research design takes the descriptive and analytical research design with the aid of the bibliometric analysis to discover those trends, themes, and contributions in this area of research. The primary data were gathered with the help of a structured questionnaire among the employees of the bank, and the secondary sources were the published literature sources. Data interpretation was done using statistical methods like descriptive analysis and correlation. Its results demonstrate that properly organized training programs go a long way in enhancing competencies, efficiency and job performance of the employees. When transparent and development-oriented, performance appraisal systems make the employees more motivated and satisfied with their jobs. The relative findings suggest that the banks in the private sector have more flexible and performance-oriented practices on the HR, which the banks in the public sector resort to the standardized experience. The paper has established that training and performance appraisal systems should be integrated to enhance the performance of employees and sustainable competitive advantage in the banking sector.
