The main objective of the current research was to examine the level of social participation amongst asthmatic and non-asthmatic adolescents in the state of Sikkim, which includes both male and female individuals. For this purpose, the research employs purposive sampling technique. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the study applied the participation (P scale) to examine the level of adolescent engagement in socially meaningful activities in society. An independent t-test was conducted to examine the difference in the level of participation amongst asthmatic and non-asthmatic individuals, and it was observed that a statistically significant difference (p<0.01) was found between asthmatic and non-asthmatic individuals with a substantial effect size of 1.57. These findings highlight the restrictions in social participation placed on adolescents with asthma and how well they are integrated in their community which also serves as an important indicator of their overall quality of life.
